Event Operations Director (Part-Time)

Location: Central Kentucky
Schedule: Average 20 hours per week (varies by season and event schedule)
Pay: $18–$22 per hour, depending on experience
Work Type: Remote with approximately 50% travel

KY FIRST Robotics is seeking a hands-on Event Operations Director to support the planning, logistics, and execution of robotics events across Kentucky. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, comfortable with physical work, and able to adapt to changing timelines and event needs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate event logistics, including equipment, materials, setup, and breakdown

• Work with event venues ahead of the event to coordinate layouts and plan power distribution 

• Work with other staff to ensure volunteers and teams have the information they need

• Transport supplies and equipment to and from events

• Manage storage inventory and organization

• Support on-site event operations, including A/V, scoring systems, and networking

• Manage event streaming when applicable and manage complex audio and video setups

• Assist with load-in and load-out, including heavy lifting

• Coordinate with staff, volunteers, and partners to ensure smooth event execution

Requirements

• Central Kentucky location is required

• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license

• Ability to use a personal vehicle for smaller events

• Ability to drive a rented truck or van for larger events

• Ability to lift and move event equipment

• Comfortable working weekends and variable hours based on event schedules

• Familiarity with FIRST events is strongly preferred

Bookkeeper (Part-Time)

Schedule: Approximately 5 hours per week
Pay: $28–$35 per hour, depending on experience
Work Type: Fully remote

KY FIRST Robotics is seeking a part-time Bookkeeper to support accurate and timely financial management for a growing nonprofit organization.

Responsibilities

• Maintain financial records using QuickBooks Online

• Process and reconcile transactions and receipts for all accounts

• Support and manage team accounts

• Support monthly reporting and financial reviews

• Assist with grant and program expense tracking

• Participate in standing meetings as needed 

Requirements

• Experience with QuickBooks Online

• Background in nonprofit accounting

• Availability for some meetings Monday–Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Eastern

• Strong attention to detail and reliability

• FIRST Robotics experience preferred

Volunteer Coordinator (Part-Time)

Schedule: Approximately 5 hours per week
Pay: $18–$22 per hour, depending on experience
Work Type: Mostly remote

KY FIRST Robotics is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to support volunteer recruitment, communication, and organization across multiple robotics programs and events.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate volunteer outreach, onboarding, and communication

• Support volunteer scheduling and assignment

• Maintain volunteer records and systems

• Communicate clearly and professionally with volunteers across programs

• Attend and support volunteers at major events when possible

Requirements

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Ability to navigate complex systems and processes

• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment

• FIRST Robotics experience strongly preferred
